The 4th ICIF Opened

The 4th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (hereinafter referred to as ICIF) is open ceremoniously today in Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, China. From May 16th to 19th, 2008, the 4th ICIF is composed of six sections: exhibition, exchanges, forums, awards, celebration activities, online exhibition and talent recruitment. With the total area of 105,000 square meters, there are eight exhibition halls in the main venue: China Cultural Industries Projects Trade Hall, Performance Industry Hall, Digital Movies, Television, Animation and Video Games Hall, Creative Design Hall, Painting and Calligraphy Hall, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan & International Cultures Hall, Press & Publication Hall and Arts & Crafts Hall. A “China Trade in Services” reporting group will give you live coverage of the Fair.

China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) is hosted by Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China, Guangdong Provincial People's Government and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. It is sponsored by Shenzhen Press Group, Shenzhen Media Group, Shenzhen Publication & Distribution (Group) Company and Shenzhen international Cultural Industry Fair Co., Ltd. It is the only national, international, comprehensive cultural fair of China and the only comprehensive cultural fair which has been approved by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI). With “exhibition and exchange” as its cores, ICIF makes efforts to establish an exchange platform for Chinese cultural products and projects, promote the development of China cultural industries and spread Chinese cultural products to the world.

The first Summit Forum of China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries is held today from 10:15am to 12:00pm on May 16,2008 at Bougainvillea Hall, fifth floor of Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center. As the core forum of ICIF, it is a high-level international summit forum on the development strategies of the cultural industries. The Summit Forum is hosted by Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China, Guangdong Provincial People's Government and Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and co-sponsored by The Organizing Committee Office of China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair and Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Fair Co., Ltd.

The theme of this forum is: the opportunities and challenges of China’s cultural trade development. It is one great event for China’s cultural industry in 2008. Over 600 guests include state leaders, honored foreign guests, ministry leaders in charge, the administrative officers from Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Region of PRC and well-known local and foreign experts and scholars in cultural industry present this forum. The speakers include Cai Wu- Minister of Culture, Yi Xiaozhun- Vice Minister of Commerce, Tsang Chun-wah -Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Dr. Gary Locke- Former governor of the State of Washington, Partner of Davis Law Firm in Seattle headquarter of the State of Washington, Harald Wolf- Mayor of Berlin, Germany, Dr. Peter Zec-President of the Red Dot GmbH & Co. KG, Dr. Thomas Rabe- Chief Financial Officer of Bertelsmann AG, Juergen Boos- Director of the Frankfurt Book Fair Company, Zhang Xiaoming- Professor of Research Center for Human Studies,Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Zhang Yu- President of China Arts & Entertainment Group. Hu Jingyan- Director General of the Department of Services Trade of the Ministry of Commerce hosts the Forum.
